today was quite fun. i was sent to go uncle barber.
Who Is Uncle Barber?
uncle barber is a malay man who hops from school to school now and then to cut the hair of students with "inappropriate excessive lengths." he charges 5 dollars per cut and he sucks. his visualisation skill is limited to only 2 types of haircut. one is an ultra slope while the other is a mega straight cut for the back, side burns, and fringe. honestly its not worth the money.
tmr is phototaking day. i wanted to cut my hair after school today, however, i was caught during the morning assembly along with some 20 other boys from sec 4 and was sent for a cut. the HOL kept all our EZ links and only allowing us to claim it back after our hair had been cut. we were sent to the parade square to wait for the barber to arrive.
the wait was horribly long. altogether we had wasted the whole 1st period (mother tongue) waiting for the guy to come. and another period due to the slowness in progression of the long queue of boys in front of us. during the wait, many of us had already conjured many interesting ideas and plans of how to save our lives!
Plan A - marney muney money mahneh.......... MA-NEY!
this is the reverse of what people would actually want in the real world. the original price of a haircut would be 5 dollars. to have haircut with more detail and style would probably cost more. however, some of us intended to pay more... for a less severe cut. yess! i mean bribery:P many of the guys who have gotten their hair cut before all supported this plan because they claimed it had worked the previous times. a 5 dollar note +2 at the bottom for cutting less and a 10 dollar note (psk! keep the change) for just a slight trim. basically the more you pay, the less they would cut!
however, there were quite a number of us who didnt have that much money. therefore a plan B was improvised.
PLAN B - throw it away, forget uncle barber, we'll make the great escape
this consisted of the group who did not have the money for bribes. the plan was to escape from the school compounds, get the hair cut by an external competitor, and then find our way back to school and sneak back in. it sounded like a really nice idea and in fact, they really tried to do it. the 1st attempt was through the main entrance, an utter failure due to tight security from the fat lady security guard. next was the back gate at the street soccer court. unfortunately, there were many cleaners present at the area sweeping the floor and cleaning up the litter. when both approaches had failed, they suddenly bumped into the school councellor. this was followed by a long hypotic attack by the man, trying to psycho all of them to just cut our hair, " dont make an issue out of this"
PLAN C - dont you know who i am??
others had figured that it was best to practice their situational writing skills by inventing a dilemma and presenting it to the HOL/the barbers. "i cant cut my hair! i got modeling later!" or "i am performing later leh! cannot cut! im the star!", "tmr i got to attend the concert!" and stuff like that:P however, i highly doubted that the barbers would understand that importance and would probably just get on with the procedure.
there were other plans as well, such as cutting our own hair, and repairing the damage after school. in this way, we would be able to control and limit the amount of damage done i guess.
actually what i did, was to return back to class and attend lessons as per normal. after school i used coins to take a bus back and cut my hair outside. tmr i am attempting to gather my fellow brethren to claim back our EZ links!:D
today was just damn suay lah, i had actually already took 10 dollars from my mum ytd coz i planned to cut my hair today. but after all the complications, my EZ link card is still not in my possession. i dont really know what will happen tmr... prolly get scolded for pontanging uncle barber but hey, what the heck ya? :D
Shi-ting: hahaa sorry! been kinda busy lately! haha. but see, i listen to you and update leh!:D HAHA
